FAT MAN, THIN MAN, FATTER MAN...GOOD GRIEF!! I have been "overweight" or whatever other descriptive you care to use to call me fat, most all of my life with occasional spurts of weight loss. I've been up and down the scale several times, (mostly up) and have gained and lost over 300+ pounds in my life. However, I've begun to see myself as more than just a "fat" person...it gets easier to take on a different outlook when one doesn't fight for every breath, or have joints scream in pain every time you move. ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES!

Every once and awhile someone comes along and says something that just absolutely resonates with my soul.  I am a firm believer in seeking a relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ, as opposed to just belonging to a church or following some denominational doctrine.  To me that is more like having a "religion" but not so much a "relationship" with God.

Sure I go to church, why some of my best friends are church-goers!  :-)

Attending church enhances,(or rather should enhance) my relationship with Jesus, but for me, it is no substitute for one on one with God.

Anyway, the song below sung by Jason Gray describes my feelings on the subject in just about as succinct and beautiful way as I've ever heard it defined.  It's not as if I've "arrived" at some spiritual "nirvana", it's all just practice for when real living takes place in eternity.

I fall down a whale of alot more than I stand up, I crawl alot more than I walk but it's nice to have the goal of the kind of spiritual life I'm seeking explained as neat as this song.

The words to this song are below, and there is a link to the video at the bottom of this post.

I encourage you to take a couple of minutes and click on the link below to hear it!

Give me rules

I will break them

Give me lines

I will cross them

I need more than a truth to believe

I need a truth that lives, moves, and breathes

To sweep me off my feet

It ought to be

More like falling in love

Than something to believe in

More like losing my heart

Than giving my allegiance

Caught up, called out

Come take a look at me now

It's like I'm falling, oh

It's like I'm falling in love

Give me words

I'll misuse them

Obligations

I'll misplace them

'Cause all religion ever made of me

Was just a sinner with a stone tied to my feet

It never set me free

It's gotta be

More like falling in love

Than something to believe in

More like losing my heart

Than giving my allegiance

Caught up, called out

Come take a look at me now

It's like I'm falling, oh

It's like I'm falling in love

...It's like I'm falling in love, love, love

Deeper and deeper It was love that made

Me a believer In more than a name, a faith, a creed
