I have been on the HMR meal replacement diet. http://www.hmrprogram.com/
I had the choice to eat and drink their food alone or supplement with fruits and vegetables. I chose to be stricter with myself and eat only the meal replacements I purchased from them. This is a pretty low-calorie diet and because I have diabetes, I was seen either by a nurse or a physician each week for the nearly six months I was in this “no-choice” plan.
I have to say that their food is nutritious and pretty tasty, and I was able to eat as much of it as I needed to eat so as not to feel uncontrollably hungry. However there pre-prepared food choices do not include breads of any sort, and very little red meat. Combine this with my decision to not supplement their food with fruits or vegetables, and considering that three of the five meal replacements each day were high protein shakes; it wasn’t long before I started “jonesin” for things not on my program.
No bread, no fruits, (no popcorn!!) virtually zero red meat and no vegetables not already mixed into one of their entrees.
So there were a few times I might have wrestled you to the ground for a pickle!
But it’s a trap to think this way.
Why?
Well, if I allow myself to focus on what I CAN’T eat while I’m on a diet, it won’t be long before I am off that diet.
NEWS FLASH!!: If one is to be successful in losing weight and keeping it off for good, there are lots and lots of things you won’t be eating anymore….at least not like you used to.
